'Blue Army' Invade London for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
London faced its first invasion in several centuries as a ‘Blue Army’ headed for the capital yesterday, (Wednesday 9 March) – in a bid to gain a stronghold in prostate cancer awareness.
The 25-strong group turned the morning rush hour blue, donning navy suits, bowler hats, ties, briefcases and special blue make-up, as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The ‘Blue Army’ infiltrated key London landmarks, including Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and Westminster, and weaved its way across the city. Using public transport, underground and overground, the army spread the word to unwitting commuters about prostate cancer, a disease that kills one man every hour in the UK.
Prostate Cancer Awareness Month is an annual health campaign organised by The Prostate Cancer Charity. Throughout March, the Charity is calling on people to join the charge and declare ‘I’m aware’. Now a special appeal is going out to Londoners, courtesy of the ‘Blue Army’, to ensure that they too are aware of the 13,000 men living with prostate cancer in the capital.
