Year to go: Lord Coe and Daley Thompson meet the story tellers of London 2012
One hundred members of the public from across the UK have been specially selected through BT’s Storytellers campaign to tell the story of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The final Storytellers group represents every region of the UK and comprises bloggers, social networkers, artists, writers, poets, graphic designers, film-makers, photographers, and musicians who will begin documenting the build-up to the Games from just before the One Year to London 2012 landmark.
BT has launched a new interactive website - bt.com/Storytellers - to showcase the views, opinions and creativity of the Storytellers and to allow the public to share in the journey, bringing them even closer to both the sporting and cultural aspects of London 2012.
As part of their commitment to showcasing British talent, BT plans to highlight some of the Storytellers’ creative work on Live Sites across Britain ahead of the Games next year.
As part of the campaign, the Storytellers will be set challenges, create their own content, and also have the chance to get closer to the Games by attending certain events in the lead-up to London 2012
A number of other celebrities and athletes who are excited about the Games have signed up to tell their stories on the way to 2012, including writer and actress Emma Kennedy, DJ Neil Fox, GB triathlon medal hopefuls Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee and Paralympic gold medallist Oscar ‘Blade Runner’ Pistorius.
BT is not only connecting people through the Storytellers campaign but is also making London 2012 the most connected Games ever.
