Millions of us will be spending most of our time indoors over the next couple of months with winter well and truly upon us. But while the majority of us will be spending most of our time under the duvet watching telly, winter is in fact a great time to do all those home improvements you never get round to in summer.

From painting, to putting up shelves, to upholstering furniture, there are plenty of things you can easily do around the home to keep you occupied during the colder months and get your house looking amazing.

What many people don’t think about when decorating is what a big difference their staircase can make to the look and feel of their home. Even just replacing the banisters, which is actually easier than it sounds, can give the home a radically different aesthetic.
